OTHER TITLES

Legacy Publishing specializes in meticulously crafted, reader-friendly yet content-rich examinations some of history's most compelling subjects. The books are crafted by pooling the world's foremost authorities on a given topic and giving them a structure to lay out their telling of events, supported by informed analysis and a stunning array of images. They began with the acclaimed work, The Holocaust Chronicle, a sprawling examination of perhaps the 20th Century's darkest hours. This was followed by The Civil Rights Chronicle, featuring a similar approach to America's own moral struggle.

On the heels of this came The Sixties Chronicle.  Following my work on FWM, I was hired to write one-quarter of the sidebars and 100 captions in this amazing work. Success with this led to an even larger role in The Fifties Chronicle.  As you can imagine, both of these books were completely up my alley as a history junkie and pop culture buff. To be sure, the approach is somewhat scholarly compared to my more iconoclastic tone in FMW, but these book are nonetheless a wealth of information and pictures. I strongly urge you to seek them out - besides their marvelous content, they are priced well beneath their true value.

OTHER MOST WANTED TITLES

I cannot let the opportunity pass to mention the work of writer (and my good friend), Stuart Shea. It was he who first approached me to create FMW in the first place - he himself has completed a pair of Most Wanteds for Potomac:

In addition, I would be remiss to overlook his book on the home of the Chicago Cubs

Even as a hardcore White Sox fan, I must admit he's done a helluva job.

Beyond this, there are a slew of Most Wanted titles in print. Not surprisingly, Stu was responsible for recruiting the talent that led to the creation of many of them.

OTHER TITLES OF INTEREST

The fact that I've written or contributed to two books covering the 1950s is less indicative of an obsession with that decade than it is of an overall pursuit of yesterday's Pop Culture, be it in film, music, TV, or literature. I've got lots of friends with similar interests, who somehow have likewise parlayed it into print. David J. Hogan is one example. In addition to being the publisher of the Chronicle titles mentioned above, he has also produced these two books, which I find fascinating:

                      DARK ROMANCE                                             SCIENCE FICTION AMERICA

The title tells you all you need to know!                                         This one features essays on a range of Science Fiction films.

Both offer rich insights into classic cinema - I highly recommend them!
