Recommended Sites
Steering my visitors to sites around the world-wide web is not something I do lightly or indiscriminately . Below are some sites that I believe visitors to The 1950s' Most Wanted ™ will find eminently enjoyable and worthy of their time:
This site, encompassing both 50's and 60's topics, is a treasure trove of articles covering music, movies, and TV. Content comes as essays on assorted celebs, sometimes in the form of fan encounters, others as articles covering their careers. Highly Recommended
What began as a pure celebration of all things Fifties has now expanded into a full-range Baby Boomer Nostalgia site. Tons of year by year events chronicled, with sidebars on a host of topics. Recommended.
While still largely devoted to Sixties topics, this site features a valuable 'write in and ask questions' aspect. (He also gives a plug to The Sixties Chronicle, of which I was a writer - nice touch!) Currently, Mr. Pop History is branching into the Fifties topics. Recommended.
Rocker John Mueller pays tribute to Buddy Holly with a live act that is not to be missed! Along with Jay Richardson ( the "Big Bopper"'s son), the Winter Dance Party tours the country chiefly, but not exclusively, every winter, re-creating the ill-fated 1959 excursion of rock lore that ended in tragedy. But this show is a living, breathing celebration, thrilling audiences with a set that is the closest any of us will ever get to the rock and roll's early days. Highly recommended!
